Her name is Zahnib.
I had rear security in the apartments for the snipers.
She talked to me for four hours in arabic. I had no idea what she was saying. She brought out a flashlight and shined it at me, then pointed to my tac light. She tried to turn it on but her small hand wasn't strong enough to push in the button. I had to put my fingers over it and push. She jumped back when it turned on.
She ran away and ran back wearing a bugs bunny beanie. I pointed to it and said bugs bunny, she spun in circles and giggled. She came back with a Daffy Duck beanie and the scene repeated itself.
Then the story turns into a bad one, so I'm going to stop while I'm ahead.
I used to be dating a soldier who was originally in GA- 3rd ID- and then went to Iraq for his second tour.. I used to post in these communities a lot.. but that was about a year ago..
I decided to post again because while I was with my boy I wrote a song about military families and having loved ones in Iraq..
I think you all would probably appreciate it -- people who don't really have anyone close to them over there just don't understand.. And I wrote and recorded this song for people who know what it's like, really..
If you guys want to check it out or download it, I have it up here---http://www.bethany-nelson.com/soldiersong
Let me know what you think! ;)
One of my friends is wanting to go Army big time bad to be a CWO (Chief Warrant Officer) yet he's thinking about going Air Force. The recruiter said that he wasn't able to go Air Force if he went Army first because of some enlistment thing.....Has anybody heard anything about this?
